The Design Journal by Tammy Chavies Jewelry

Where the Journey Began

Where the Journey Began

THE STORY BEHIND THE SPARKLE

I probably should start our first Design Journal entry by letting you know a little about me. My name is Tammy. I’m a wife, mother, Nana, and a former teacher and photographer.

I owned my own photography studio for 10 years and loved capturing babies, families, seniors and weddings during that time. Once my own kids were grown and I stopped shooting full time, I found myself with a little more time on my hands—and apparently, I needed a new creative outlet. 😊

I started making jewelry and quickly fell in love with creating new designs. Once a few people started asking about the pieces I was wearing, the idea of making jewelry to sell began to bloom into a full-fledged business.

I mentioned it to my husband and told him it would just be a little side hobby... but before he knew it, I was off and running. 😂

Then we took a trip out West.

Seeing all of the beautiful places we were lucky enough to experience made me realize I wanted this to become more than a little shop where I added a few pieces now and then.

I loved the idea of creating jewelry inspired by the places we visit—the colors, textures, landscapes and memories that stay with us long after we’ve come home.

And that’s where:

Jewelry Inspired by Places Worth Remembering.

came from.

This business may just be getting started, but I already have about a million ideas being jotted down in my actual design journal. 😂 And I can’t wait to share some of them with you here.
